Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Physical medicine and rehabilitation is the branch of medicine which intends to restore body functions of the people that are lost due to medical conditions or injuries.  The main principle of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is to restore the functional ability of an individual or quality of life to those who are with physical disabilities affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, joints, bones, ligaments, muscles, tendon or sinew. Rehabilitation not only helps in restoring several body functions, but also helps in intestine and bladder issues, mastication and swallowing, issues in thinking or reasoning, movement or quality, speech, and language. Physical medicine will give incorporated and multidisciplinary care with a specific goal to recover the individual by tending to the individual's physical, therapeutic, professional, and social needs. Recovery is where it helps an individual to accomplish the level of function, independence, quality and personal satisfaction as could be expected under any circumstances.
